Allegiant expands to Nashville as part of 13-route expansion
Allegiant Air will make its Nashville its newest destination, an addition that's part of a broader 13-route expansion to be announced by the carrier on Wednesday.
The company also revealed two new cross-country routes that will add non-stop service between Denver and Asheville, N.C., and between Oakland and Memphis.
As for Nashville, Allegiant's service starts June 7 when it launches the first of five routes from the city. Flights to Punta Gorda, Fla., will operate year-round while service will be seasonal on Allegiant's four other Nashville routes (Destin, Fla.; Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Richmond, Va.; and Savannah, Ga.).
“We’re thrilled to expand our service with 13 new routes and service to our newest city, Nashville,” Lukas Johnson, Allegiant's senior vice president of commercial, said in a statement. “With the addition of these new routes, passengers will have even more options to get away with convenient, nonstop, affordable flights across the country on Allegiant.”
Nashville will become Allegiant's 120th destination. That count includes the addition of the carrier's two other recently announced destinations of Charleston, S.C., and Sarasota, Fla.

All but one of the routes will be served with two weekly flights operated on Allegiant's Airbus A319/A320 aircraft. The exception is the Orlando Sanford-Syracuse route; it will be served twice weekly on a mix of MD-80 and A320 aircraft before shifting to all-A320 service later this year.
